sad to say.. i fell sick here. but its not fever, flu, cough or anything. it's just basically phlegm forming at the back of my nose and probably above the laryxn, thus making my voice crack. i think i fell sick coz i haven't been sleeping well lately and have been eating 'heaty' food.
daddy called in the evening and i didnt want him to hear me in my 'croaky' voice. thus i kept my phone at a distance when i spoke to him and was sounding kinda "irritated" coz i was trying to make out what he was telling me. i think i sounded as though i was dying to put down the phone. sigh. (sorry daddy.. i just didnt want you to know that i fell ill here) luckily mummy wasn't around to talk to me otherwise she would have definitely detected the change in my voice instantly.
thus, i've decided to recuperate during the weekend and stayed in on a saturday night. (i missed all the halloween parties. sigh.) went to bed after dinner coz i was quite tired after training and all that window shopping and my head was starting to hurt. woke up with a throbbing headache at around 10.30pm. i really couldn't take it anymore. popped 2 panadol pills and hoped for the pain to go away. the pain finally subsided and i slept all the way till morning.
after almost 14 hours of sleep, im feeling better, and my voice is less croaky. hopefully i will recover soon and stop croaking. croaks.

i have an essay that is due in 2 weeks time but i haven't exactly thought of how to approach it. i dont know if im able to crap a thousand words on sustainable development. though crapping is what im good at. i hope my crappy talent can come to good use. hopefully i wont flunk it or something. it is very disheartening and embarrasing to flunk my first essay here.
anw.. my hall mates cooked spaghetti bolognaise today. it was not bad.. but the way the guys used the butter is just absolutely disgusting. its like soo sinful. but they know their stuff. and they sprinkled powdered nutmeg into the meat sauce, a trick they learnt from jamie olivier. how pro is that. but dinner didn't turn out the way they wanted and i can see that the guys are pretty disappointed. but i thought it was alright.
one observation i've made since i got here is that the singaporeans here, or perhaps it's the rj pple, like to use the phrase 'pysche up'. and they are always like "wah.. pysche up!". i guess it's just one of those jc lingos.. like how we used to use "jack and self-jack" back then in ac. i still use that.. only when im with the ac pple. i miss ac.
strangly.. unlike my friends.. i don't miss the char kway teow or chicken rice or roti prata. or maybe i haven't. but i do miss home cooked dishes. i miss my stir fried broccoli with cauliflowers and carrots.. my boiled soup.. and the family gatherings that we make it a point to have once a month. i miss grocery shopping with my dad. i miss hanging out with friends. i miss watching movies. (yes i do!) its so ex here i dont think i would wanna watch it unless its a block buster. i hope every one is doing fine in singapore. i will be back soon. before you know it.

if you're wondering where's that pretty place in the picture.. it is river thames. pretty isn't it? too bad i dont live at bankside.. so i dont get to see the river everday.
visited canterbury last saturday. it's quite a pretty place. but i ended up shopping more than sightseeing. you wont believe it! they have topshop, zara, french connection, marks & spencer etc in that little town. who said they were deprived of a city life?
oh well.. im gonna prepare for school now. classes are starting this week. sigh.

it's only the second week of the term and im already getting into mugger mode. classes will only begin next week and im already finding myself playing 'catching up' with the lecturers. its pretty tough to do arts here in london especially when the syllabus is so uk context. i actually find myself visiting the library rather frequently and borrowing textbooks to read. how mugger is that. but i guess i can impress them with singapore's system in my essays and put all my social studies knowledge into good use. haha.
oh well.. im still doing touristy stuff.. as a break from mugging. visited the national gallery and postman's park today. you know the scene where jude law met natalie portman in the movie closer? yeah.. that park. it took me 2 afternoons to find it.. the first time my friend and i was 'conned' by a map shown on a website. the park is rather small (compared to hyde park).. but has a kind of 'tranquil' beauty. i've posted some pics on the net but i cant get the url up on my blog.. so if u guys wanna see the pics just get the url from me when u see me on msn.
that's all for now.. im gonna bed soon. need to wake up early tomorrow to prepare for my lecture. take care friends. im missing you guys here in london.

sorry friends for not updating my blog regularly. basically.. im more or less settled into london.. though sometimes im still acting like a "bloody tourist", reading the map and visiting new places. but isn't it more fun to go to a place which you haven't been to and explore it on ya own than to hang out at the usual places?
hmm.. this week has been good. eating A LOT. shopped quite a bit. visited new places. took great shots. and the fact that classes haven't started yet just makes the week better. the cool thing about london is that when you exercise in the cold weather, you won't sweat! but initially your entire head will go numb and starts hurting coz you can't sweat it out and the weather is so cold. but once ya warmed up, everything is fine!
went to harrods today! had krispy kreme!! donuts are such sinfully good 'junks'. it's a pity that i didn't get to shop around harrods as bro's friend had to detour back to school. went portobello after that. but by the time we were there it was already near closing time. the fruits were selling at cheap prices and i got 8 oranges for 1 pound. and peaches in london are really cheap. 4 for a pound. worth it. bought a white "furry" jacket for 10 pounds. that's like a steal man. though i didn't really want to get it but the woman cut the price till so low that bro and felix was just like "get it man!" haha.
gonna go for netball training and then shopping at camden tmr! can't wait!! i can't stand myself man. i sound so bimbotic. cheers mate. hahahaha =)
